Black History Month is a momentous occasion to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of Black people to British society. Throughout October, there are numerous events happening across the Square Mile, spanning the arts, business, literature, history and so much more. At the City of London Corporation, we hope you are able to attend some of these activities, along with your friends and colleagues.

If you know of other events in the City of London not listed here, please email belonging@cityoflondon.gov.uk and we will do our best to promote them.

Guildhall Black History Month Celebration

The City of London Corporation, in collaboration with City Black Employee Resource Groups (CBERG), invites you to this year's Black History Month Reception – an evening of celebration, style, and empowerment.

Inspired by the Met Gala, this year’s theme - Standing Firm in Power and Pride - encourages you to showcase your creativity and individuality through your attire. Whether it’s the tailored elegance of Black Dandyism, ancestral pride, avant-garde flair, or Afrofuturist imagination, let your style tell a story of power and pride.
