Social Mobility in the City is a new City Belonging Network, convening those who are actively driving social mobility across the Square Mile.

It is part of a wider family of City Belonging Networks which will be launched as part of Lord Mayor Alastair King’s mayoral year. The network will bring together members of the community who are actively driving social mobility initiatives at Square Mile workplaces, to:

  • Create and promote opportunities for the community to meet one another through events and activities.

  • Support the City of London Corporation and other City institutions to be the best possible ally.

  • Promote engagement from members of this community in the civic and cultural life of the Square Mile.

Advancing Socio-Economic Diversity in Financial Services

We were pleased to be partnering with Accenture and Progress Together to present the findings of a ground-breaking research project, and to mark the launch of the newest City Belonging Network, Social Mobility in the City.

This research initiative explores how artificial intelligence can create transformational opportunities to advance socio-economic diversity within the sector, with tangible actions that leaders can implement in their organisation.

The event featured a keynote speech from the Lord Mayor, and a panel of senior industry leaders facilitated by the Times editor Andy Silvester.
