The City Mental Health Network is a new City Belonging Network, bringing together representatives from workplaces across the Square Mile who advocate for mental health or have responsibility for colleague welfare.

It is part of a wider family of City Belonging Networks which will be launched as part of Lord Mayor Alastair King’s mayoral year. The network will bring together representatives from across Square Mile workplaces, to:

  • Create and promote opportunities for the community to meet one another through events and activities, and feel a sense of belonging.

  • Support the City of London Corporation and other City institutions to be the best possible ally to those working toward better workplace mental health or struggling with their own.

  • Promote engagement from members of the mental health community in the civic and cultural life of the Square Mile.

Navigating the Mental Permacrisis: Supporting Your Colleagues Through Uncertain Times

City workers and businesses are facing a uniquely challenging moment, marked by persistent uncertainty – from economic instability and the cost of living crisis to the evolving workplace, advances in AI, geopolitical tensions, and a growing backlash against diversity, equity and inclusion. In response, the City of London Corporation is hosting a special network breakfast and panel discussion to explore how we can collectively navigate this “mental permacrisis” and provide meaningful support to our colleagues.

Taking place at Guildhall, this event will bring together senior leaders, mental health advocates, and stakeholders from across the Square Mile to share insights, challenges, and tangible strategies for fostering mentally healthy workplaces. The morning will also include a formal launch by the Lord Mayor of the Mental Health in the Square Mile network – the newest addition to the City Belonging Network.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with peers over breakfast and leave with practical ideas for building resilience and community in the workplace.

This event is invitation only, but If you are based at a workplace in the Square Mile and you are a an advocate for mental health, or have responsibility for colleague welfare, we encourage you to register your interest to attend.

Registration for this event has now closed. Please contact belonging@cityoflondon.gov.uk with any questions.
