Latinos in the City is a new City Belonging Network, bringing together representatives of the Latin American community at workplaces across the Square Mile.

This is part of a wider family of City Belonging Networks which will be launched as part of Lord Mayor Alistair King’s mayoral year. This network will bring together representatives of the Latin American community at Square Mile workplaces, to:

  • Create and promote opportunities for the community to meet one another through events and activities, and feel a sense of belonging.

  • Support the City of London Corporation and other City institutions to be the best possible ally to the Latin American community.

  • Promote engagement from members of the Latin American community in the civic and cultural life of the Square Mile.

If you would like to know more, complete the form below or email belonging@cityoflondon.gov.uk.

Sign up for our Latinos network by Sunday, 20th July and you will be eligible to win 2 free tickets to see 8-time Grammy winner Fonseca perform at the Barbican on 31 July, with thanks to Kilimanjaro.

Managing Imposter Syndrome

Discussion and networking event

Thursday 17 October 2024 • 5.30pm-8pm
St Lawrence Jewry, Gresham Street

In partnership with the London Stock Exchange Group and City of London Corporation, we were delighted to be holding this exciting event with a range of exciting speakers, details of whom are below.

Are you a Latin American living in the UK who has ever doubted your skills or felt out of place in your professional journey? Whether it’s worrying about speaking English in front of large audiences, or questioning whether your work experience back home translates to UK roles, you’re not alone. We’ve all had those moments where imposter syndrome kicks in and tells us we don't belong. But guess what? We do, and this event is here to prove it.

Through interactive sessions, real life stories, and expert tips, we’ll tackle common experiences such as:

  • Overcoming the fear of speaking English in front of large audiences.

  • Embracing your Latin American work experience and learning how to market it as your unique superpower.

  • Busting the myth that you need to "fit in" to succeed, and instead, celebrating the value of standing out.
