Standing Firm: Power, Pride, and Black Excellence in Work

  • Legal & General 1 Coleman Street London, England, EC2R 5AA United Kingdom (map)

This Black History Month, L&G is standing proudly in solidarity with the Black community, celebrating a legacy of excellence, innovation and leadership that has transformed not only industries – but entire societies. We’re embracing this year’s powerful theme ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’, a tribute to the resilience, strength and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe. It’s a moment to reflect, honour and amplify the voices and stories that continue to inspire change and drive inclusion.

We’re honoured to be joined by Adejoké Bakare, the UK’s first Black female Michelin-starred chef, hosted by Tobi Akingbolagun, Head of Compliance Surveillance at L&G for an engaging fireside chat. Tobi was also a contestant on series one of the TV show Britain's Best Home Cook. Together they will explore how strength, resilience and pride are deeply rooted in Black heritage – and how these values resonate with and empower colleagues at L&G and across our industry to continue to drive inclusion.

Join us in person on Wednesday 15 October, 17:30 - 20:30 for an unforgettable evening of inspiring conversations, food, music and celebration.
