PERFORMANCE: Balimaya Project - When The Dust Settles

  • Milton Court Concert Hall Silk Street London, England, EC2Y 9BH United Kingdom (map)

Balimaya Project returns with a string section and special guests to perform music from their new album When The Dust Settles, which fuses West-African folkloric music and jazz.

Formed in 2019 by percussionist Yahael Camara Onono – who's also our 22/23 Milton Court Artist-In-Residence, Balimaya Project  bridges West African folkloric Mandé music together with jazz and the sounds of Black London – creating an eclectic, soul-stirring style that's steeped in rich traditions.

Back after a sold out show in 2021, Balimaya Project returns to perform music from their new album When The Dust Settles. They will be accompanied by a string sextet and joined by special guests including Nigerian music artist Obongjayar and afro-swing, jazz and future soul artist Afronaut Zu. More to be announced.

Opening the show is Asmâa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou, a four piece all-female Gnawa group from Morocco.

Book tickets and find out more on the Barbican Centre website.
