Associate Director (Project Management)
Location: City of London (Square Mile)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer – Chief Strategy and Programme Officer (Programming)
Hours: Four days per week (0.8 FTE)
Remuneration: £50,000 FTE; £40,000 for four days per week, as consultant.
Term: One year, renewable subject to funding.
About your role
Our mission is to help the Square Mile become the world’s most religiously literate, faith-friendly, and socially connected global business district by supporting people, strengthening organisations, and building trust across communities.
The Centre is led by a senior executive team spanning strategy, programming, and religious literacy. The Associate Director produces the project from formation to delivery, tracking progress and ensuring joined up thinking across all strands of FiTC.
Purpose
Leadership of operational delivery and clearly setting out programmatic plan, including managing logistics, complex timelines and budgets as well as coordinating across the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
Keep track of FiTC’s overall progress, timelines and milestones, ensuring key deliverables are met well within time, budget and expectations, and the wider programme remains on target.
Support senior leaders by working closely and ensuring cross-programmatic alignment.
Set up systems to ensure easy workflow patterns across team including budget compliance and project management systems.
Major events and programming
Support the design and lead delivery of major events, festivals, and City-wide programming, owning logistics, scheduling, and on-the-day coordination.
Support in managing event budgets, suppliers, venues, and delivery partners.
Relationships and engagement
Support existing relationships with City institutions, employers, livery companies, faith communities, and professional networks etc.
Gather insights and feedback to shape responsive, evidence-led programming, monitoring and evaluation.
Support consultations and stakeholder engagement around events and programmes.
Person Specification
Essential
Knowledge of the City of London, namely its institutions and professional culture.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex programmes and events to time, budget, and high quality.
10+ years' experience of project management and producing major events.
Excellent organisation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work across a senior leadership team, managing dotted-line relationships and competing priorities with diplomacy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of London’s faith and cultural diversity.
Experience in outreach, engagement, and relationship building.
A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude
Problem solving in a professional context
Desirable
Experience of fundraising
Established relationships in or connected with the City
Knowledge of how local government and other City mechanisms and offices such as the Lord/Lady Mayor’s office, City Police and City of London Corporation work.
