Join iCAN this Black History Month for Understanding Sickle Cell: Awareness, Advocacy and Action, a virtual keynote session exploring sickle cell disease, lived experience, health equity and the importance of support and advocacy.
Sickle cell is one of the most common inherited blood disorders and has a significant impact on many individuals, particularly within Black communities.
Yet awareness and understanding of the condition can still be limited.
As part of Black History Month 2026, this webinar will create space to learn more about sickle cell, challenge common misconceptions and better understand the experiences of those affected.
We’re pleased to welcome Dr Colin A Michie as our keynote speaker.
Dr Michie will explore sickle cell disease, its impact on health and wellbeing, and the importance of greater awareness, understanding and advocacy. The session will also consider what colleagues, managers and organisations can do to create more supportive and inclusive environments.
