Nominate Your City Belonging Champion
The City Belonging Project is a City of London Corporation initiative to create a more inclusive Square Mile by strengthening connections between City workplaces, their staff networks and the wider community. Since our launch in 2023, we have brought together thousands of people to celebrate events, exchange ideas and build cross-sector networks that support a more connected City, where everyone belongs.
We are asking each City of London workplace to nominate a City Belonging Champion, who will act as your point of contact with this programme – and ensure your colleagues are able to actively participate in the Square Mile community.
The City Belonging Champion will:
Be appointed by your workplace to act as the key point of contact between your organisation and City of London community engagement programmes.
Actively promote the City Belonging Project at your workplace by sharing information, in particular with staff networks, senior leaders and internal communications.
Facilitate collaboration on events, including exploring potential hosting, co-creating, partnerships and opening up of existing events to the wider community.
Encourage your colleagues and staff networks to actively contribute to relevant City Belonging Networks – which represent particular communities and causes.
Provide information and insight on the activities and priorities of your staff, including employee resource groups, in order for us to better serve their needs.
Facilitate engagement with key programmes, where applicable, including in areas such as Young Talent, Community Safety, Public Health and Climate Action.
Nominate colleagues, including senior leaders, to attend flagship City of London community events.
Ensure your colleagues are aware of and able to participate in City of London surveys, consultations, and democratic processes – in order that your colleagues are able to help shape the City’s future.
Help your colleagues, including new starters, access the unique heritage and civic traditions of the Square Mile, as well as form connections with cultural institutions and voluntary groups.
